Hamish Dee – A New Look For A New Book

Saturday, December 23rd, 2006

My second major project, “10 Tales of Origins and Extinctions”, has been completed. I’m promoting it as a Short Story Album because it has 10 “tracks” and you can get through it in an hour. Clever, no?

I gave “10 Tales” its own page on the website. It features two freebies, the classic “Self Sucking Strife” from the Extinctions catergory, and a new one called “Stretch” from the Origins column.

That finished, I decided to give my first major project, “The Coconut and the Swan”, its own webpage, as well. I’ve included a brief introduction and chapter one of the book.

With so many new menu options, I didn’t have room to vandalize the South American ruin any further. I re-did the homepage, menu and, for the hell of it, the halfway house.

If you’re ready to explore, you should probably just start at the homepage. ~HD

Updated Halfway House

Thursday, December 7th, 2006

I rearranged the halfway house a little, in lieu of my current project. I have 5 of the 10 stories I need for a thematic, short story anthology. I’ve pulled “The Homo Sapiens Code” from the website because it will be part of the project. “Self-Sucking Strife” will be included too, but I’ve decided to leave it on the website as the freebie.

Generous soul that I am, I can’t take something away without giving something back. I’ve posted Carousel. A touching story that I’m not very attached to, and is unlikely to go anywhere. Enjoy! ~HD

East Coast Tour

Friday, December 1st, 2006

The photos from my recent trip to the Eastern U.S. are in the Travel Notebook and Photobook section of the website. The 3-week tour was a treat to myself for finishing my first book, “The Coconut and the Swan” and it was my first visit to this virtually unknown section of the world. ~HD
