Writing Journal
Welcome to my new piece of frequently updated material, the writing journal.
I have not accomplished much creatively in the past week, please forgive me. To my grave misfortune, I do not write romance novels and thus am not a machine. Life has been a terrible distraction recently, and I have been victimized by interruption after interruption. To remedy the situation, I’ve locked myself in the loft of a rural cabin with my laptop and a Wifi connection.
Let’s take care of the obvious observation then, the writing journal looks and acts just like the blog. Well, please don’t be bored or disappointed, but this does minimize complexity for myself and you, the valued reader. I am currently working on a book entitled “Rurrenabaque” and can’t afford to take time away from it to write my happy, little posts for the blog. The writing journal will act as a compromise. A summer of perpetual silence doesn’t behoove me either, so each new day will come with a short record of my progress. It is something new, in the highly traditional sense, and a way to add a feather to my already massive writing load, as if I were a literary beast of burden.
Don’t expect anything statistical, like a daily word count, and certainly don’t expect me to tell you if I cried over my new pages and did irreparable water damage. In the end, I will probably just undermine it, like I do with every other system or pattern of behavior, but please have the courtesy to enjoy it. Each day will be listed under pages, in the upper right corner. ~HD
